Charity Events
Every AmeCon we host charity events to help raise money for people in need. Through these events, a percentage of the sales is donated to charity, which is announced prior to the convention. It is through these events we hope that during a weekend where we are enjoying ourselves, we are hopefully able to bring joy to many others in need of help.
In 2007, AmeCon raised £1400 for the NSPCC from charity events, and we hope to do the same for charity this year (currently to be decided).
Bring & Buy
The Bring & Buy allows you to bring your unwanted items and artwork and sell them to the public at a price you decide. Items can be brought in during Friday and early Saturday morning, with items and artwork available to purchase from Saturday until Sunday afternoon. Unsold items are collected on Sunday afternoon/evening. A percentage of total sales are donated to charity.
Over the years, the AmeCon Bring & Buy has grown dramatically thanks to those taking part, so we recommend visiting early if you're after the best deals. If you wish to submit any items or artwork to the Bring & Buy, please fill out an application form and bring it along with you on the day.
Charity Auction
The Charity Auction is held on Saturday evening after the cosplay masquerade, where uncommon or rare items are sold to the highest bidder. If you're serious about purchasing something very special, then it's best to save up now. A percentage of all sales are donated to charity. Convention special items are also available, where the full price is donated to charity.
If you wish to submit any items to the Charity Auction, please fill out an application form and bring it along with you on the day.
